Quality Drink Awards 2017 :: New Initiatives

New Initiatives

As you would expect from the industry's most prestigious awards programme, we do not rest on our laurels. We have launched a raft of exciting new initiatives to compliment, enhance and reinforce the credibility of the most sought after awards in the grocery sector.

Quality Food Awards Editor

The Quality Food Awards have recently appointed Tania O’Donnell as our new full-time Editor. She will help to further push the Quality Food Awards web portal, launched in 2015, which has played a key role in supporting the expansion of the awards. It has quickly become the hub for an audience of foodies and industry professionals alike, providing an entertaining and authoritative platform for high quality content from the development of great food and drink, through to regular updates, discussions and news about our portfolio of Quality Food and Drink Awards.

People’s Choice Quality Food Awards

In collaboration with Campden BRI, the Quality Food Awards will be awarding a People’s Choice Quality Food Award. This will be selected from entered category winners and highly commended products, following a rigorous, second phase of consumer panel judging run by Campden BRI. The results of this years ‘People’s Choice’ Quality Food Awards will be presented at IFE on Tuesday 21st March 2017.

This year we have launched the Christmas Quality Food Awards to accommodate the large number of Christmas products entered into the Quality Food Awards each year. The Christmas Quality Food Awards will take place in October 2017, giving companies the opportunity and time to market their Christmas Q wins on pack and in print, prior to their launch in store later that year. With mountains and mountains of mince pies in stores on the lead up to Christmas, a mince pie with a Q Award winning logo speaks volumes to the consumer of today.

Small Producer Quality Food Awards

The Small Producer Quality Food Awards were launched last year with the aim to provide a platform for smaller producers to highlight their achievements in a hugely overcrowded marketplace. In partnership with Co-op, all small producers which enter the Quality Food Awards are put forward for this prestigious award. Judged by an expert panel of judges, the products are put through their paces, with shortlisted suppliers invited to present to The Co-op at their headquarters for the second round of judging. The winner of the Small Producer Quality Food Awards 2017 will be announced at a reception prior to the main Quality Food Awards on Thursday 9th November.

Foodservice Quality Food Awards

This year we are launching the Foodservice Quality Food Awards which will include categories from last year's Cafe Quality Food Awards and catering products from the Wholesale Quality Food Awards. These awards will celebrate innovation in product development in the Foodservice sector, whilst judging with the same robust and fair judging process of the Quality Food Award. Results will be announced in London in October.

Local Shop Quality Food Awards

The Wholesale Quality Food Awards have been rebranded in 2017 to the Local Shop Quality Food Awards to make them more relevant in today's market. Look at our new site to see what has changed. Local Shop Quality Food Awards will still be announced before the Retail Industry Awards on the Thursday 28th September.
