We are delighted to reveal the Christmas Results of the 2021 Quality Food Awards.
 Last month our panel of expert judges tasted and scrutinised hundreds of entries, collating this impressive list of delicious Christmas Food.

Of the entries, our chair of judges Simon Wright commented; “If the QFA Christmas entries are anything to go by it looks like Christmas 2021 is going to be another epic culinary occasion. There was a real “wow” factor on display which impressed the judges. Great taste, impressive presentation, clever innovation and (sustainable) glitter all present and correct.

The plump fruits are added to an all-butter recipe using dark brown sugar and golden syrup for richness, enhanced by citrusy notes and a hint of mixed spice. The cake is left to mature for minimum 3 months before we hand-finish with handmade snowflakes and sparkle.

We wanted to create a festive family favourite which encompasses the chocolate orange Christmas trend, so we started with a soft cocoa enriched chocolate sponge filled with a seasonal fruity clementine filling. Using orange coulis and orange oil we then smothered the cake with a smooth enticing orange Belgian milk chocolate ganache buttercream. The traditional wreath design that is trending this year was incorporated into our decoration using a shimmery gold and festive red lustre, coating crispy milk chocolate rice balls, melt in the mouth Belgian milk chocolate curls, then finishing with a sprinkle of Belgian dark chocolate pine needles.

A thoroughly decadent Shimmering Christmas themed Bundt Cake which uses a Chocolate Hazelnut sponge that is entwined with a Salted Caramel sponge to give a highly visual marble style cake, the luxurious white chocolate frosting which again is hand applied completely enrobes, decorated with a scattering of Chocolate pine needles with a sprinkling of shimmering gold glitter and hand placed hazelnuts around the top.
